Share a microphone when you need to
With hold-to-speak and End Speech Mode, both people can use one microphone, including with separate headphones. The exclusive speaking turn keeps their inputs apart.
A layout made for a shared phone
The shared-phone layout gives each language a large speaking pad. Hold your language, speak, then release to hear the translation. Keep the page open and test the device’s audio route before starting.
Help each person get started
Participant controls follow the chosen spoken language where supported. Optional guided language detection helps with setup, with manual selection available as a fallback. Detection sends a short audio sample for processing.

Pair one side or both. A phone supplies its microphone and receives translated audio and captions; a text-only policy can limit incoming output to captions.
Check both sides before the first word
Use the pre-start headset checks, input warnings and separate level meters to check each participant. The phone or host can control speaking turns; hands-free mode needs suitable separate inputs.
Reuse a pairing, then retire it
Pairings survive ordinary refresh and sign-out. Remove or regenerate a pairing when it is no longer needed; account revocation also retires it.
