Open the meeting in a browser tab
Join your Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet call in a browser tab on the console computer. In SalamAI, choose shared audio as the source and pick that tab with its audio option turned on.
Share the meeting’s sound with SalamAI from the computer running the call. Attendees open a listening link for their language and hear or read the translation on their phone or in another browser tab.
In short
Updated
Run the meeting on the same computer as the SalamAI console. Open the call in a browser tab, then choose shared audio as the source in SalamAI and pick that tab with its audio turned on; for a desktop app, share the window or screen where your browser offers audio. SalamAI checks the share for sound before it starts, so a silent share never starts a session. Then post the Audience Companion link for each language in the meeting chat. Attendees listen or read captions on their phone or in another tab. Translated audio typically arrives about 6–20 seconds after the speaker, so leave short pauses between speakers.

How it works
Join your Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet call in a browser tab on the console computer. In SalamAI, choose shared audio as the source and pick that tab with its audio option turned on.
Share the app window or the whole screen, where your browser offers audio for it. If the console’s own sound could be picked up again, it offers No local sound, which mutes translated audio on that computer only. Listeners still hear everything.
Before any session starts, SalamAI listens to the share for up to five seconds. If it hears nothing, it stops, names what was shared and lets you try the same source again. No session starts for a silent share.
Post the Audience Companion link for each language in the meeting chat or invitation. Attendees open it on their phone or in another browser tab and listen or read captions in their language.
Before the meeting
Open the Shared-audio check on the computer you will use, and choose a playing tab, window or screen. You see at once whether its sound comes through. Nothing is uploaded, saved or billed.
Any computer with current desktop Chrome or Edge can share a tab, window or screen. Turn on the audio option in the share picker. On a Mac, the browser also needs Screen Recording permission; if the system refuses the share, the console explains what to change.
Where enabled, send captions to an OBS overlay or a WebVTT feed, so a webinar or livestream can carry them on screen.
If your audience is in a room but the presenter is remote, Remote Speaker sends their microphone straight to your console. See Remote Speaker →
Common questions
No. SalamAI translates the meeting sound that you share from the console computer. It does not sign in to Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, and attendees do not hear the translation inside the meeting app; they open a SalamAI listening link instead.
Any meeting or webinar that plays sound on the console computer. A browser tab with its audio option turned on is the most reliable choice. For desktop apps, a window or screen share works where your browser offers audio for it. Test with the free Shared-audio check first.
The share carried no audio, often because the tab’s audio option was off, the wrong window was chosen or the meeting was muted. Choose the source again with audio on. No session starts for a silent share.
When a window or screen share could pick up the console’s own sound, No local sound mutes translated audio and notices on that computer. Listeners and recordings still receive everything. Share a tab instead to bring local sound back.
